Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Welcome to Kareela Public School!

The Parents & Citizens’ Association (P&C) is a group of parents, carers, and community members who work together to:

● Support our school through fundraising, volunteering, and advocacy.

● Provide extra resources, programs, and opportunities for our children.

● Strengthen the connection between families and the school.

Each year, our P&C helps fund things like new playground equipment, sports gear, library books, technology upgrades. We also organise much-loved events such as discos, Father’s Day & Mother’s Day stalls, special food days for the kids, BBQs and every second year we hold a Kareela Karnivale which is very much loved by the community.

Why join the P&C?

● You’ll stay informed about what’s happening in the school.

● You can have a voice in decisions that affect our children.

● You’ll meet other parents and become part of a friendly, supportive network. How you can get involved: You can contribute as much or as little time as you can spare — every bit counts!

● Join as a member — Membership is just $1.00 per year and gives you voting rights.

● Help at events — Many hands make light work, and it’s a great way to meet others.

● Share your skills — Whether you’re a whiz at baking, handy with tools, or great at organising, we’d love your help.

● Attend meetings — Held 6 pm on Wednesday in Week 2 and Week 8 , they’re a relaxed space to share ideas and hear updates from the school. You are also welcome to join the meeting via Teams

Even if you can’t attend meetings regularly, you’re always welcome to get involved when it suits you.
